Introduction
Hello my dear fans, here is your favourite writer Gilderoy Lockheart. Now
I will tell you everything about werewolves you need to know in case you will
face one once, just like I have…..
It was a stormy night with a big full moon and there I was alone on street in Norway. I knew there was a werewolf around here somewhere, the people of the town has warned me for it and begged me to stay inside. But I said no and promised them to release them from the hideous beast that’s been wandering around their homes, waiting for someone to come out and then eat him!
Enough was enough I said to myself. These people deserved a nice quiet and safe home. So I grabbed my things that was needed to kill the werewolf and walked on the street. The werewolf would grab me of course, because they kill the first thing they see.
As I stood there waiting for the beast I heared it howl. I shaked of fear,
but I pulled myself together and stood ready. Then I saw it; He was huge, I
could see his big sharp teeth, his fur that was like prickles as of a dragon.
And his yellow mean eyes, staring at me with this hunger. For a moment I wanted
to go back, but then I thought of the people in the town and I couldn’t just
leave them. They all relied on me. The beast came toward me, slowly, and I stood
there with a self confident feeling that I would be able to defeat him. Then
(he was just a foot away) he began to attack. I pulled out the gun with the
silver bullet and fired. The beast ran away toward the forrest. I had not shot
the werewolf in his heart or any other deadly place, but in his foot. He is
still a human underneath it. And the next day I would be able to know who the
werewolf was, for he would drag on his foot.
The people from the town saw what I did and ran toward me, applauding, laughing and thankful. And that’s all that really counts, a thank you from the people you’ve saved. Of course afterwards, when I had helped the man who was the werewolf, they gave me a little award: ‘Guardian of the people who has protected them from the werewolf’ That’s still in my price chamber.
But now, my dear fans you will have to learn more, so you may be able to step
into my footprints once, some day if you’re lucky. And here is a little information
about werewolves.
Chapter One – History of Werewolves
What does the word werewolf mean?
The meaning about the word ‘were’ comes from an Old Germanic word: ‘wer’ this means ‘man’ or ‘human’. Some other experts say that it comes from another Germanic word ‘wearg’ and this means devil.
The first werewolf – the Myth of Lycaon
King Lycaon was a tiran who approved everything that was bad. Criminals ruled Arcadia and ordinairy people feared for their lives constantly. Rumours about the cruel king reached eventually the ears of Zeus, the supreme god of the Greeks.
Zeus decided to investigate these rumours and disguised himself as an ordinairy man. He left his home, the mountain Olypic and wandered across Arcadia. There he saw the rumours were true.
Zeus was shocked and angry. It was far worse than he expected. He decided to visit the king and put things back to order.
Once he arrived at the castle of Lycaon, he let them know he was a god. The servants of the king trembled with fear, they fell on their knees and start praying. But the king wasn’t that easily impressed. He decided to test his visiter; everybody could tell that he was a god.
Zeus knew Lycaon was up to something, but he decided to let the king go his way. For diner the king put before the god a dish of human flesh.
Some say it was a messenger of one of his neighbour countries, others say it was one of his sons.
The supreme god of course knew what the king had given him and became very angry. That was the last drop! He turned to Lycaon and turned him into a wolf. Only the eyes of the king remained human. The rest of his life he was doomed to wander through his own country, with the thirst to kill.
Roman Werewolves For the Romans wolfs are, just as the eagle, a symbol of courage. For them,
the wolf was almost a holy animal. Romans believed that the founder of Rome,
Romulus, along with his twin brother Remus was raised by wolfs. Their uncle
had thrown them in the river, hoping they would drown. A she-wolf had saved
their lifes and they stayed with her until they were big and strong.
How to become a werewolf? You can become a werewolf if you have been bitten by one. Muggles have ‘found’
ways to make yourself a werewolf, of course these things are just nonsense so
it will not up come in my book. If you want to read them, you should read some
second class book of some third class writer.
Symptoms of werewolves Humans become werewolves under a full moon, this happens once a month. So
when a person disappears every month when there is a full moon, definitaly werewolf.
Back in the old days, you could recognise werewolfs in their human form because
they have a lot of hair at their eyebrows; it’s one line above their eyes. Of
course they have evolved and the human side has become more stronger. A long
time ago when someone became a werewolf the werewolf was strong and started
to control the human form.
How to protect yourself from a werewolf?
Silver bullets, shoot a werewolf and he will die, meaning the human side will die too.
There has recently made a potion that will take away worst symptoms, the human will be able to control the werewolf.
I hope I’ve given you enough information, my dear fans, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send your owl. Don’t expect a response soon, because as a famous writer I’m receiving a lot of letters, and everyone’ll get a response, so please be patient! Maybe I can even ask Harry Potter if he would like to help me!
