Gold Rat Films Gold Rat Films is a community project funded by the government through the Work for The Dole Initiviative. Non-profit organisations can approach Gold Rat films for assistance in filming, editing and preparation of videos that may either help them apply for funding, record what their organisation is all about or even provide films for public enjoyment. Gold Rat Films formed in February 2001 under the name of Golden Mine Films. The reason for the name change was to associate more with Ballarat and its history. Gold Rat Films have a planning day on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday participants come in on those two days. Gold Rat Films are also having a big Gold Rat Production on the 8th November at Grainery Lane Theatre, at Doveton Street Nth Ballarat.
