Job Interviewing Handy Hints

Do we not all dread Interviews? Some people would run away just because they have an interview. You don't really have to fear interviews if you are equipped for it. The truth is you can never be 100% prepared for an interview, because only the interviewer knows what questions are going to be asked. Otherwise interviews would be too easy.

Important tips for an Interview

Stay calm
Remember to breathe.
Sit up straight & don't slump in your chair.
Just relax!
Try to avoid "um's" and "ah's" when answering questions.
Do your best to sell yourself to the employer.
You should make your potential employer feel that you would be a huge asset to their company.
Try to turn up to the interview 10 - 15 minutes early.
Remember to dress appropriately to match the job.

Likely questions to pop up in an interview:

What was your last job?
How long were you there for?
How far did you go in school?
Why did you apply for this job?
What do you know about this company?

More important questions that need to be considered carefully:

What are your strengths? Just remember, whatever you answer this
question with, you must act as if you will get the job

What are your weaknesses? You could answer this question with
something like… "I like to see a weakness as something I am still working on", or even, "In the past my weakness was…but now I…


This Question will be asked every time without fail.

Why do you think that you would be the right person for this job?
Be prepared with an answer for this question.
