All the people were all united
under the banner of the 'joint-action committee.' We walked
and we shouted slogans of peace and love. Alot of people
had made their respective banners, all promoting peace.
But, we weren't the only ones who were rallying yesterday.
There were about 5-6 groups of people from other committees
who had come together at the press club. Some of them more
radical than others.
some of them burning dummies
of bush in effigy, some screaming 'bush murdaabad' (die
bush) but we managed to drown them out with our peace slogans,
and of course, our wonderful peace song! 'we who believe
in peace shall not rest until it comes' it was a wonderful
feeling, being there with sooo many people who believed
in the same cause as us. There was a sense of security,
a sense of unity. Ithink we managed to make an impact yesterday.
Ragni Kidvai came on television, we were
in a lot of newspapers, there was a ton of media coverage
which worked totally for us. So on the whole we managed
to make an impact. Some one told me, that when theres a
torrential river, and people just stand in front of it,
they get washed away. Only a dam can stop it.
So i said, you need people to build that
dam. Thats what all of us are doing. Rallies in differents
part of the world, may seem useless to some of you, it may
seem like a waste of time to the others because there is
no way that we will stop this war, if bush wants it, he'll
get it. All i have to say is that take pride in the fact
that at least we're trying. We're trying, each of us on
an individual level to stop millions of homes from being
destroyed. We're trying to let the world know that this
hurts us, it affects us.. and there a billion people with
you all across the world feeling the same way. So when this
cause and all the effort you put into it seems worthless
some times... just know that youre not alone. All of us
are with you, and there is someone in every corner of the
world who feels the same way as you.

Peace
Rallies
'aman chahiye, abhi
chahiye'kdkdkdkdkdkdkkK (we
want peace, we want it now)
'aman ko haan, jung
ko naa' kkkiiiiiikkkkkkkkkk (yes
to peace no to war)
'iss jang ko roko,
har jang ko roko' iiiiiiiiikkkkk (stop
this war, stop all wars)
The rallies were amazing,
a total of about 1000 people from all walks of life united
for one common cause. The YIP rally was a positive one,
because it concentrated more on the fact that we wanted
peace.
