Censor Board clash! 'Priyamana Thozhi' controversy

Vikraman had got a U certificate for al his films until now. But, according to
news, he always has a tough time with the censor Board. Vikraman is someone
who doesn't even go near glamour. Why would he get in trouble with the
Censors? In the initial scenes of 'Priyamaana Thozhi', Madhavan is portrayed
as a drunkard and a chain smoker. O correct him Sridevi pretends to smoke and
drink too. The Censor Board ahs raised objection to those scenes. So, Vikraman
removed the scenes which has Sridevi smoking. This isn't the first time a
heroine smokes on screen, but the Censor Board has allowed all those scenes to
slip through. In 'Adharmam' and 'Kummaalam', Ranjitha and Rathi respectively
are seen smoking. The posters of the films had these scenes. Troubles for
Vikraman began with 'Pudhu Vasantham'. In the street in which Murali and
Sitara live, there are election campaign posters of Rajiv Gandhi. Vikraman
didn't notice this. The Board asked him if he was a supporter of Congress. |

marriage! Simran's good-bye to acting

Finally, Simran has found the man that she wants to settle down with. Deepak
had come down to Mumbai from Delhi to get his Pilot's license. He saw Simran
and fell in love with her. Now, the love is all set to turn into marriage.
Greatly embittered by the Raju Sundaram episode, she was enjoying the company
of Deepak so much that the two became inseparable. Last month, in an interview
to a North based magazine, her father had announced that the two had got
engaged and that Simran wouldn't act in films after her wedding. Simran is yet
to make any formal announcements about it. By the time she completes the films
in hand, it would be the end of this year. She plans to make the announcements
later. Fans, get your fill of Simran ASAP, because she wouldn't b here for
long. |
