Discography

Luna Sea's career stretches from 1986 when they first played gigs as Lunacy. They released three demo tapes during the first three years. After their encounter with Hide the guitarist from X Japan, Hide offered to help them release their first CD at Yoshiki's (leader of X Japan) Extasy Records. Their first CD was a huge success. They became a national rock band and was soon one of Japan's greatest rock legends.

During 1997, Luna Sea temporarily stopped all their activities as a group and each member went separate to broaden their music. The release of Singles was during their solo activities and it was compiled of all of Luna Sea's songs included in their singles before their solo works. Singles is considered as a 'best of' album.

Luna Sea perfected their best songs and recorded them to make Period which also known as their "Best Album". It sounds significantly different to their earlier recordings especially Ryuichi's singing. With the final album, Luna Sea was officially disbanded.
