Grashow
Drafts Entire Mackerel Team

By Jon Bielecki - KFS Press

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The owner-monster known as DosBot is pissed off. Having talked trash in order to get into the league, then continuing to poke and prod at KFS veterans once they were accepted, the conglomerate does not know how to handle the mediocrity it continually puts on the field. Their solution this year? Draft the players who got rings last season.

Team representative Jon Grashow started the draft my prematurely picking ex-Mile High Mackerel Brian Giles before the keeper rounds were complete. The trend continued as the Devil Jays gave unis to Michael Young, Chipper Jones, and Octavio Dotel, all ex-Macks, in consecutive rounds.

"We figured if it worked for Bielecki, then maybe it could work for us, maybe?" they said in a press release.

Whatever the strategy, fans in Baltimore are excited to see this years squad of Jays. Question marks abound around the infield as Richie Sexson is coming back from a season plagued by injury, Mike Lowell's cancer could flare up at any time, and Adrian Beltre is looking to prove that 2004 was no fluke. Still, the DosBot has show that it does have some baseball savvy, and it will be interested to see how much younger players like Beltre, Adam Dunn, and Justin Morneau can develop in 2005.

Bielecki Says...

Draft Grade: B. They drafted half of my team from last year, but everyone else they took sucks.
Best Pick: Troy Percival, Round 19. If healthy, this guy could tally a huge save total in the weak AL Central.
Worst Pick: Luis Gonzalez, Round 10. A gamble, as he is coming off an injury and has not even come close to his 2002 form. He would have slipped lower than this, I think.
