ESL REVIEW

I visited to 'English-Zone.com' at  first. The contents are mainly English quizzes.  I tried a  grammar quiz at the site. There is a  primary level, medium level, and advanced level. I tried each of them. They were  not so difficult for me, so I got high-score.

Next, I went to 'The English  Firsthand Cafe'. There were many interesting contents, too. I went to one of  them  directly, in order to try to chat. However, it  was just a bulletin-board  to search for an e-mail friend and  there was nobody to have  a real chat with,  so I left there.

Finally, I tried to chatting on the  'Dave's ESL cafe'. I had never chatted on the Internet even a  Japanese web site, so it was my first time. However, it was not easy for me.  I couldn't register myself on the member-list soon. I puzzled and couldn't  understand why I failed. I tried to register over and over, but failed either.  When I decide to give up, I noticed this caution, 'Incorrect Information'. It  told me I didn't enter my 'confirmation number', and the site should send it to  my e-mail address. I read it again carefully and opened my mailbox. There are  message and my confirmation number from web site, so I could join the chatting  at last.

I was afraid of to do it at first,  because it was the first experience for me. I couldn't imagine what I should  talk about, but I began to 'speak' like this for the time being, ' Hi, everyone!  I' m tabbycat---'.  I waited the response and pushed Reload button, then it came sooner than I  expected. In spite of I was a first visitor; they speak to me gently. I felt the  world in my own backyard vaguely. I really enjoyed my first chatting, but I had  no time then. That compelled me to leave the chatting-room. I chatted quite  short time, but it was pleasant for me. If I had a chance, I hope to join the  chatting again.

I also went to 'DAVE SPELLING'S  INTERNET ACTIVITY WORKBOOK'. The total number of contents was 30  units, for example, First  Meeting, Crime, Education, Music,and so on.  I chose History. Next, I advanced 'activities', and chose 'This Day in History'.  At the top page of it, there was an  explanation of contents  and the important historical events of the day. The day I visited the site,  October 29, the black Tuesday hit the Wall Street and billions of dollars has  lost. This was the beginning of the Great Depression. Since I like history, this  page was really interesting for me. I also tried to 'WHAT HAPPENED  ON YOUR BIRTHDAY'.Inthis  corner I must enter one's own birthday and choose  one topic, then indicate what happened the day in the past. I chose 'General  Interest'. On my birthday in the past, Ignatius  of Loyola died  (1556). I knew him, because I studied about him at the World History class when  I was a high-school student. I was  surprised at the news.
