Independent Radio 91.3fm WVKR is a student run, non-commercial station that broadcasts out of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. The mixed format station specializes in music not otherwise heard in the Hudson Valley including Jazz, Classical, Blues, Hip Hop, Metal, Folk, Polka, Techno and independent and underground rock. All totaled, over one hundred different staff members provide music unavailable anywhere on the dial. All of our personnel, both on and off the air, are volunteers from Vassar's student body, faculty and staff as well as members of the surrounding community.
