Thursday, September 2, 2004 - Guess what? Yuoo has a job now. A couple of days ago, one of Yuoo's classmates, a light-brown ferret, asked him, "How'd you like to be a teacher's aid, Yuoo?" To make a not-so-long story short, Yuoo is now a grader for Alchemy class. This is the same class that Yuoo himself was studying last semester. He found it very difficult, finally passing with a C. Yuoo will be working 20 hours per week, earning 10 goldpieces per hour. Yuoo is worried that all the grading might put him behind in his classes, but I think it will be good for him.
Monday, September 20, 2004 - Yuoo has finally completed his first task in his job as a teaching assistant. Eventually, Yuoo will be grading papers, but right now he has been instructed to learn how to manipulate a strange material called LaTeX. Though it was difficult and quite tedious, Yuoo has finally gotten the hang of sculpting with LaTeX, and he will now be making various manuscripts for his overseer, Rikki Tikki Tavi. He is a graduate student at Yuoo's school. Rikki is a very good supervisor, and Yuoo enjoys listening to his accent.
Saturday, September 25, 2004 - These past few days have been eventful. There was a bomb threat at Yuoo's school, but fortunately nothing came of it. In one of Yuoo's classes, they discussed zombies and how to avoid them. [Note: a "zombie" is a type of computer process.] Also, Yuoo's stuffed Red Panda arrived in the mail today.
Thursday, September 30, 2004 - Today was a very strange day for Yuoo. Yuoo pretty much worked all through the night on a project for his Alchemy job. He had to create a LaTeX document, and it took him much longer than he expected. He worked on it all night until 2:00AM. After that, he took a two-hour "nap," and he continued work until it was time for school. Whew! Yuoo felt pretty good during the morning, but by the time the afternoon came, he felt like a zombie. [Attack of the Sleep-Deprived Zombie Foxes!!! Coming to theaters.] Two interesting things happened that day. For his lunch break, Yuoo went to the fourth floor of the magisters' library, to the lounge. Yuoo opened the door to the microwave oven, ready to cook his lunch, when he noticed something strange. When he opened the door, the microwave turned itself on! The traytable was rotating, and the fan was on. Yuoo quickly, closed the door. Just to make sure he wasn't hallucinating, he opened the door again, and yep, there it went. :-P Yuoo told me he isn't sure if the oven was actually emmiting microwaves, but I'm sure he doesn't intend to find out. Yuoo reported the microwave to the receptionist, and that was that. Yuoo's second surprise was a more pleasant one. The lounge has a beautiful view outside through large windows. Right outside the window is an oak tree, and Yuoo saw an eagle in it! Since the lounge is on the fourth story, the eagle couldn't have been more than 10 feet away from Yuoo. It wasn't a bald eagle, but it was big and beautiful. Yuoo didn't know the name of it, but from how he described it to me, it sounds like a golden eagle. Here is a picture of one I found online:
