Kazumi is the younger sister of Wataru Akiyama. She goes the Gunma Prefecture with him to do some work for her aunt. In the beginning, she is very uncomfortable in Gunma and really doesn't trust anyone. When she meets Itsuki, she thought that he was trying to rob her brother's car (because Wataru has a modified 86 and Itsuki was drooling all over it). At first, Kazumi and Itsuki's relationship got off to a rocky start. However, when Kazumi did not have enough money to pay for her snack, Itsuki payed for the rest and Kazumi began to trust Itsuki. The two became friends, but Itsuki fell in love with Kazumi. However, Kazumi treats Itsuki only as a good friend.
Kazumi is the kind of girl that is unstable with her choices. She wants to do something, but realizes that she doesn't know what to do. When she was young, she spent all of her money on her brother's car, which only helped his dream. You can say that Kazumi was living her brother's dream. But now, she wants to be independent. Whenever Wataru races, Kazumi sits right next to him, so she knows a lot of good drift techniques and helps Itsuki improve his driving skills.
