| Ken is the father of Kai and an old rival of Bunta's. In his younger racing days, he was always competing with Bunta to be the best, but always got beaten one way or the other. Maybe there were times when Ken actually beat Bunta, but I guess that wasn't enough to calm his anger. Anyways, he urges his son to win and beat Takumi, that way he can get his revenge. Before Kai leaves for the race, Ken gives him some pointers about the area and Takumi's racing style, since he figured that Takumi has a similar style to Bunta's. Ken's relationship with his son is better than Bunta's relationship with his son. Ken and Kai actually talk to each other and smile, not like Bunta or Takumi. Overall, this guy is putting too much pressure on Kai and I think that he should challenge Bunta to race (that would be soooooo cool!). |
