Tony Harnell was born on September 18, 1962 in San Diego, California. He is 178cm tall and weighs 65kg. His dad is a photographer and his mom was an opera singer. He moved to New York because his dad's job in 1980, then he majored in photography at Long Island University. He was in a band called Jackal before he joined TNT in 1983. He's been singing on all the TNT albums since Knights Of The New Thunder. He took vocal lessons under Don Lawrence who also taught Sebastian Bach (ex. Skid Row) and several other famous singers. His voice is so clear and he can hit really high notes in the studio and during live as well. In a TV interview, he revealed how he started his high tone vocals. When he was a kid, he was riding his bike and going downhill. He was going too fast and couldn't stop himself. When he crushed into a car, he hit his crotch against the handle bar and he screeemed! Since then he can hit high notes but he lost his balls. He was just kidding! :) When TNT broke up in 1992, he had a project called Morning Wood. He also sung one or two songs on several albums. TNT reunited in 1997 and he sang on Firefly. In September, he quit TNT to pursue his solo career, but fortunately he rejoined TNT a year later. In late 1998, he had a project called WestWorld. Also, he sang one song on Sonic Adventure.
