TNT headed to a different direction on this one. They wanted to get more 'street' feeling. It was recorded in New York. Tony heard from Joe Lynn Turner who did backing vocals on Intuition and also on this one about the underground church in Manhattan called "The Church Of The Realized Fantasies". He liked the sound and the album title became Realized Fantasies. Most songs on this album are blusy and groovy.
Some songs are very unique. Intro of Downhill Racer, a song about a cocaine junkie girl, was at 3/4. Guitar and bass are going at 4/4 while drums are at 3/4 in Rain. Riff of Purple Mountain's Majesty mixed major and minor notes. Ronni's "Machine gun technique" is featured in solos of Mother Warned Me, Purple Mountain's Majesty, etc. Easy Street has Queen feeling and it was written with Del James, a writer for RIP magazine intruduced by Atlantic Records and he also wrote songs with Guns'n'Roses, etc. I don't know they meant to copy it or not, but the intro to Lionheart sounds a lot like a song by Japanese artist, Ryuuichi Sakamoto.
Downhill Racer has a cool intro and the chorus part. Mother Warned Me is a good rockin' song. His solo amazes me! Rain is one of my most favorites. It's got a very catchy chorus and it's a lot of fun to play this song on the guitar. Easy Street is fun to play too. You gotta love that solo!
