Below is what my first web page said, orginally published in 1993 when the World Wide Web just started...
Take a read - it is quite interesting :)
As you might be able to tell... I'm from Switzerland. I'm currently living
in the U.S.A. where I persued a Bachelor of Science in International Management ('95) and later a MBA or Masters of Business Administration ('97) at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL.
I'm also an avid SKIER! I love to play tennis, hike in the Alps and go biking (just for fun). I was the President of the International Professional Business Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi for the '96 - '97
term. Please
Here is some of my personal history... I came to the U.S.A. in 1990 as a foreign exchange student. I spent my first year with the Bakos family in Carol Stream, IL and attended Elgin High School (EHS).
I don't know how, but I ended up applying and getting accepted to Northern Illinois University. In the fall of 1991 I then started my career here at NIU. The first two years I stayed in Douglas Hall,
one of the dormitories. My first roommate, George, was pretty cool, plus he went home every weekend. Unfortunately, he ended up droping out at the end of the year (grades...), and I was
getting a new roommate.
My sophomore year, Jared of Elgin, IL was to be my roomie. Well, I was late moving in (I had just gotten back from Switzerland) and he wasn't around (he was playing valleyball outside - we hadn't
met yet). I had purchased a loft at the end of the previous semester and since Jared wasn't around, I just started putting it up. Well, when he walked in the whole room was more or less apart - I
introduced myself and and said: "I hope you don't mind, but I'm putting up a loft!"
Well, as it turned out, he didn't mind (although the thing I hear to this day is the fact that he was
known for the first few weeks only as "Yves' roomie", not by his actual name..:). That semster I also rushed and became a Deltasig. Jared later did the same. He is now attending graduate school
for an MIS degree at NIU.
Time Jump - it's December 1995 now. After four and a half years in college, I was finally ready to graduate. I would have completed the program in four years if I hadn't taken one semester off to do
my service in the Swiss military. At this point I had decided to stay in school a little longer and get my MBA as well. Also, I'm currently dating a wonderful woman, Laura, whom I love, and with
whom I spend way too much time, but she has shown and helped me see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, so I don't mind. She graduated in December and is now a working professional!
This is a quick once over of my life. Want to learn more about me?! Just e-mail me. I love to chat and e-mail around the world!
