- program.YWAM is an international, interdenominational
Christian mission-oriented organisation.
- Founded in 1960, it now has 552 centers in over 133
Nations on all six continents. Its purposes
- include training, challenging and channeling Christians
to fulfill Christ's command: "Go, therefore,
- and make disciples of all nations". Mercy Ministries
to the refugees of the world have become
- an additional burden and reality. The University of the
Nations is a training and logistics base
- from which skilled workers are sent out. The DTS is the
pre-requisite to the University of the
- Nations Schools', which is run worldwide. In order to
make an intelligent evaluation of the

- HOW IS YWAM FINANCED?
- YWAM bases throughout the world are autonomous and
responsible for their own legal and
- financial affairs. There is no international headquarters
supplying funds, and YWAM is not
- financed by a specific denomination. Expenses are covered
by gifts; by income from the various
- YWAM training courses; and by the contributions of
individual staff members towards the cost
- of their own boarding and lodging. These contributions
vary from one base or team to another.
- It is often said that YWAMers live by FAITH and
FELLOWSHIP. Some receive regular
- support from family, friends and/or churches that see
them as missionaries. Others have no
- regular support and depend on what the Lord sends them
from day to day. Many give freely
- within the movement to meet the needs of others.
