Fund Development Committee

Charge:

Support development and implementation of the YWCA's three year fund development plan including annual solicitation campaign, major gifts campaign, bequest and endowment planning, donor recognition and cultivation, and special events. Develop strategies for greater Board enthusiasm and support for fund development in order to grow database and expand individual giving.

Objectives:

1. Secure 100% Board participation in pledging and fundraising activities.

2. Support the staff in developing and achieving a year-long annual campaign (including spring and fall mailings, quarterly luncheons, phonathon, corporate and foundation requests and special events) which meets the agency's budget requirements.

3. Chair events related to the annual campaign, including recruiting other Board members and community members to the task.

4. Identify new potential donors and get them involved in the YWCA through visiting programs and attending events as appropriate.

5. Accompany staff in soliciting gifts.

6. Assist in developing corporate relationships.

7. Monitor fund development plan monthly in relation to goals and budget.

8. Advise staff on developing appropriate materials.

9. Advise task force on initial planning for cap./endowment campaign as a part of the YWCA 50th anniversary.

10. Increase donor recognition and visibility.

11. Maintain a focus on implementing the mission.
