Frequently used Chinese Sentence Patterns

This Frequently used Chinese sentences patterns course is for the learners who are new to Chinese or already have some knowledge of Chinese. It is designed to help the students using their own flexibility to learn Chinese efficiently. By learning Chinese sentence patterns, the students can learn the basic skills of speaking, reading and writing. 

In this course, we focused on the  everyday used language. It is not intended to teach grammar, but you learn the grammar rules without notice that. It is not intended to teach words, but by putting the words in sentences, you learn the usage of words automatically. It is intended to teach the frequently used sentences patterns in mandarin Chinese and how to use them. The sentences patterns and example sentences  in this course are based on ordinary people’s daily life, for example, how to ask questions, describe things, explain reasons, compare things, etc. The Chinese words used to make sample sentences are all frequently used in daily life.

The course has 45 lessons. Each lesson was written in the Chinese characters, followed by Pinyin (for the pronunciations) and English (for the meaning) and each lesson is about one sentence pattern or two -three related sentences patters. You willl learn the sentences like: “who is who? “what is what? “somewhere has something? “somebody goes to somewhere to do something?"something is as good as something", etc. 

In the beginning of each lesson, there is a short description about the sentence pattern and how to use it. For example, the description may be like this: Use this sentence pattern to compare two things or this expression is used to compare more than two items. 

The text part is example sentences of the sentence pattern. When a new Chinese word or phrase first appears in the course, it is underlined and followed by a bracket with Pinyin and English in side.

 Each lesson has a sound file that includes all sentences in the text file of that lesson. The sentences can be listened just by a click.

Who Can use this course? 

This course is written in a way that everyone can easily understand without much hard working. It has no complicated grammar rules. It has only real sample sentences. If  the student remember the sentences, he will  learn hundreds of daily used sentences. But the purpose of the course is not for remembering the sentences; the purpose is for understanding the sentence structure and use them by substitution and  changing. In the beginning, it may be difficult to make new sentences if the students are new learner because of the limitations of  their vocabulary. But  it will be gradually easy to do so because each lesson has new words and phrases. So, Anyone who can understand simple English can use the course easily.

After the course, students should be able to understand basic dialogues, speak simple Chinese sentences, know frequently used Chinese words and phrases and can make own sentences, dialogues using the words they already learned in this course and other courses. 

Why should you learn the sentence structure?

Learning a language by learning sentences patterns is liking seeing the forest before the trees. We all know that words are the basic unit in a language, but you can never learn a language just by learning separated words; and it is very common that a Chinese word has more than one meanings. Only in a sentence the word is meaningful. The sentences structures are like the forms of a building , the words, phrases, idioms, etc are construction materials.

Learning the sentence structure is a good choice if you don't like leaning grammar rules. The rules is already there, you just remember them. Don't need to understand why, just use them as a template, make some "copies" like a copy machine. For example, you can change a noun to another noun, an adjective to another adjective. Copy the sentences structures; not copy words. dents can learn some frequently used Chinese words, Chinese phrases about people, family, time, job, etc.
