This applet runs John Conway's Game of Life: each cell is dead or alive; if a live cell has less than two living neighbors, the cell dies of loneliness, and if it has more than 3, it dies of overcrouding. If exactly three live cells surround an empty cell, the cell becomes occupied the next phase. Here's a faster DOS-based program (written in assembly code!) that my friend gave me; to run it, download the zip file, unzip it, and when you run the included exe file(double click), the computer switches to full screen mode, with a black screen; wait a bit and then press any key twice, and you see the application running; press something again to return to Windows. |
