The Fine Print
DEPOSITS AND THIS COMPLETED FORM MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE LEAGUE BY 11:59 pm CDST SEPTEMBER 9, 2009, TO GUARANTEE A FRANCHISE. After this time, open franchises are available on a first-come, first-serve basis until 12:01 am CDST September 26, 2009. Unless notified, please attend the Entry Draft on Saturday, September 26, 2009, starting at 10 a.m. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. Again, only the people LISTED ABOVE WILL BE ADMITTED AND NO ALCOHOL CAN BE BROUGHT IN!!!
By submitting this form and paying your deposit, you agree to pay to the League any remaining balance before the start of the Entry Draft on September 26th, 2009. Failure to do so forfeits your deposit to the League account.
Also by submitting this form, you as franchise GM and your partners agree to abide by the rules of this League and judgments of the League Commissioner, understand that your participation cannot be resigned (only transferred by you to Partner or by Commissioner to others) by you once the YYZ Draft starts, no changes in the YYZ Rules will be made once the NHL Regular Season starts, and that all rules interpretations and appeal decisions made by the League Commissioner are final subject to the Rules.
You also agree to the following terms if your franchise wins First Place or you have current custody of the League Trophy:
1) A deposit of $350 will be withheld from your winnings if you choose to accept temporary custody of the League Trophy. If you do not accept custody of the Trophy, then you will be awarded the full amount.
2) The deposit will be held by the League at 1% annual interest from the May 15th after your win until you relinquish custody of the trophy.
3) Temporary custody of the Trophy begins no later than 6 weeks after the end of the NHL Regular Season you won in and ends no later than 2 weeks after the end of the NHL regular season following the season you won unless repairs or replacement of the Trophy and/or packaging is required. This is to allow for updating of the Trophy display with the latest information and any other improvements deemed necessary by the League. You must be available to return the Trophy to the League Commissioner or his representative no later than 2 weeks after the end of the following NHL season after your win, or risk forfeit or reduction of your deposit. $25 per week will be deducted from the deposit until both the Trophy and packaging are returned. If repairs or replacement are required on the League Trophy or packaging, then acceptance will be delayed until repairs are completed or updating is completed.
4) If you cannot arrange for return delivery within 30 radial miles from downtown St. Louis, you will be responsible for shipping the Trophy with the following conditions on the package: a) Shipping to the Commissioner’s or other representative's residence b) Insurance of $350 on the package, and c) Packing costs. If you are receiving the Trophy after a winning season, the same conditions will apply.
5) As part of your Temporary Custody, you must bring the League Trophy to the YYZ Entry Draft after your win for display.
6) Any damage or loss of the Trophy will be taken from the deposit. Once you are eligible to regain your deposit, you may elect to apply all or part of the amount to the nearest YYZ Entry Draft Fees. Additional amounts will be refunded by check within 30 days from the completion of repairs or replacement of the Trophy.
