crazy life altering disasters happen all the time to people... and hollywood is always willing to cash in on those disasters... so forgive me while i laugh at most of those movies... all of them are incredibly uninventive... with the exception of memento...

memento traces the trials and tribulations of a tortured man who has lost his short term memory and his attempts to catch the man who killed his wife... and you thought you had problems...

just imagine for a second, if you will... you can not remember any new information for more than about 5 minutes... keep on imagining here... this happened because you tried to save your wife from a vicious attack... she died and now you are left trying to solve the crime and get vengence... what would you do? tattoo important clues all over your body? sure... constantly take polaroids of people you meet? with out a doubt... get frustrated and scared? if you are human...

memento is a fantastic movie... twisting and always confusing you with new information... who do you trust? yourself? your friends? your landlord? how could you?... memento leaves you looking for answers where none are available... it puts you in the shoes of this tortured man... it makes you thank heavens for what you have and take for granted... like walruses... can never get enough of them...

if the world were to end tomorrow, what would you do? i'd probably rent memento... then again i'm lame... but odds are it won't you can put your crazy night of hedonism on hold and watch a terrific movie...
