Guide To Elemental Druids

Most of 1.09 builds of druids were mostly the cookiecutter shapeshifting builds. Mostly using maxed werewolf or werebear with frenzy or some other skills. Those builds, normally armed with hacked items, would easily tear through legions Baal's minions. Few people would use even go into the elemental tree of the Druid since it was so underpowered. But now that 1.10 has come and gone, Elemental Druid skills have gotten a huge upgrade. With synergies an Elemental Druid can easily get 4K+ damage with his skills. This guide will take a peek into this build.

Skills
Since this is going to be a pure elemental Druid build, no points will be spent in the shapeshifting tree. Most of the elemental skill wont work when the Druid is in wolf or bear form anyway.

Elemental
Firestorm: 1-5 points. Firestorm is a pretty powerful skill at the beginning of the game. Normally only 1 point would be enough but since this is also a synergy for other skills like Armageddon, you can get away with more points into it.

Molten Boulder: 1-10 points. Molten Boulder is also really powerful early in the game. The little boulder launched knocks back some of the monsters that get in your face. The bad thing about Molten Boulder is that it has a relatively long cooldown. Since this is also a synergy for Armageddon, a couple more points can help.

Arctic Blast: 1 point. Arctic Blast is handy in the beginning of the game if you need to slow down enemies but other than that its pretty useless.

Fissure: 1 to 10 points. I personally use this skill alot while waiting for level 30 to roll around. Its really powerful against groups of monsters. Like Molten Boulder, it has a long cooldown. Putting points in it increases the length of Armageddon.

Cyclone Armor: 1 to 5 points. A very handy skill especially if youre low on elemental resistances. Not alot of points are needed since the synergies from Tornado and Hurricane will add alot of damage absorb to it.

Twister: 1 to max points. Twister does some pretty crappy damage. Since its a synergy for Hurricane and Tornado, maxing it will give hurricane and a tornado a nice boost in damage.

Volcano: 1 to max points. Like twister, volcano does crappy damage but put more points into it because of the synergy to Armageddon.

Tornado: 15 to max points. Tornado is the only elemental skill that does decent damage and has no casting delay. This should be your left click skill to spam in between the casting delays of Hurricane and Armageddon. Also gains

Hurricane: Max Out 20+ points. Hurricane is a very powerful elemental attack that most elemental Druid builds are using now. It does cold damage to slow down enemies. The down side is that you have to be kinda close to the monsters so that they are inside the hurricane to do any damage. Not much of a big deal if have alot of health.

Armageddon: Max out 20+ points. Armageddon is also a very powerful level 30 skill for the Druid. All of the "fire side" of the elemental tree give synergies to it. So because of this, Armageddon can do alot of damage if the skills are managed right. The downside of it is that the little meteors that rain down on enemies have to actually hit them. Sometimes a lucky monster can reach you without hiting a single meteor. This is why its handy to also have hurricane on also.
Normally I turn hurricane on and when the casting delay is over, I turn Armageddon on and then switch off.

Summoning
There's really only 2 skills you need with Summoning: Oak Sage and Carrion Vine. Theyre both optional points if you want to get them, but theyre highly recommended especially oak sage. Oak Sage will give you nice boost in life and its very party friendly. And Carrion Vine will save you on potions, plus it removes corpses from the area so monsters cant revive them (and pisses necros off ^_^).

Stat Points
Strength: You only need enough strength to wear your gear. Most spell caster items wont require much strength. You can safetly be around 70-100 points.

Dexterity: You only need enough to have decent blocking on your shield. Druid have pretty low base blocking on most shields and it'll keep getting lower every level unless you keep dex up. 100 or more points.

Vitality: You want to dump all your remaining points into here. Oak Sage and carrion vine will keep your life pretty high, but you'll still want a good bit of life in the long run. 150-200+ points.

Energy: With the casting delays on a majority of the druid's skills and additional mana from items, not much energy is needed. You could even keep this at base if you wanted too.
