Here we have Ottoman stamps used in Palestine, the two well known cities of Haiffa and Acre (Acca),

Many European power countries wanting to dominate the ports of old Turkey have entertained post offices into principal cities now in Turkey (Smyrna...), Lebanon (Beirut, Tyr...), Egypt (Port Said, Alexandria...), Palestine (Haifa, Jaffa...)...
They used their own stamps with an overprint in paras or piastres to avoid any currency exchange abuse. Here we have some nice stamps on piece, mainly from the German and Austrian Levant. Note also that some countries (France, Austria) have issued stamps directly in the local currency without overprints. Here for example Austria, where the face value is directly in piaster.
Look at the overprints and how and where they are tied
Here we have the basic Palestinian stamps running from 1920, upon the occupation of Palestine by British forces, until 1948 upon the declaration of the Israeli state.
The first row without overprint was used also in neighbor countries (Lebanon, Egypt...). Then it was overprinted to serve uniquely in Palestine, six of these stamps are in the third raw, right part. The second raw and the third left part raw is part of
the basic unique pictorial set issued. Its face values range from 1 mill to 1 pound, the 90 mills being the scarce value, not the one pound value which is fairly common.
Here we have a nice Palestinian revenue block used fiscally. If it was still on the document, it would worth more.

Here you have a nice showing of old covers where the first sets of Palestine overprinted in three languages have been used. The letter are sent to Alexandria and Port Said (Egypt).Also you have a description of each cover. Also you have a holland letter sent to Palestine. Finally you have a super nice cover franked nicely by a Jerusalem cds on the long pictorial set, the cover shows the Dome of the Rock Mosque.
The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) headed by Yasir Arafat issued some stamps mainly for publicity use. Some of them bear a face value. These days, these stamps are looked for.
It represents the successfull hijaking of an air plane, PLO began showing itself to the world.

A peace agreement was reached between PLO chairman Yaser Arafat and Israeli prime minister Rabin who was killed later by a jew. Palestinian Authority stamps began to appear in 1994. But why the word "Authority"? It is not yet a true state? For that one must ask if there is a true mailing system in this areaor we must still wait until the formal declaration of the independant state of Palestine.
Here you a nice block commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Arab league, also it bears a surtax. This idea implies that Palestine is indeed part of the arab world despite israelite tries to "jew" the country.
