Here we have Ottoman stamps used in Syria, first we have a nice Ottoman commemorative pair used nicely in 1917 in Hama (we were in the World War 1), another older stamp used in Damascus, the third one is also used in 1917 in Damascus, a nice commemorative stamp, and the fourth one is used in Aleppo North Syria.
After the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I, Syria was occupied by French Forces who considered this country as an enemy: TEO: Territoires Ennemis Occupes. The first one belongs to France, and is much rarer than the other two who belong to the Levant, where a big quantity of stamps have been prepared to be used in the region.
Here we have a nice copy of the TEO overprints but it is inverted. These are rather rare from this period, but beware of forgeries.
Here we have stamps from the Kingdom of Syria as formed in 1919, as the British promised Syrians for independence if they help them against the turks, but the Kingdom disappeared one year later and the French mandated all the Syrian region. As you can see the available stamp printer was not good, but interesting stamps.
The first air mail stamps of Syria are rather rare, here we have one of them nicely used. The grill covered most of the stamp. We can read "Poste Par Avion", postage through plane. This stamp also bears the overprint OMF Occupation Militaire Francaise, that overprint replaced the TEO one.
Here we have the complete Syrian air set used on piece, issued after the above one. The "avion" surcharge is clearly visible vertically, good set.
Here we have a nice pair used on piece of the omf surcharges, it seems that this pair has been used in Beirut.

Like Lebanon, Syria had 2 Olympic sets in 1924. These 2 sets have a great value because they are rather rare, also many like to collect thematic stamps. This set is the second olympic in bilingual language (Arabic and French)
Syria was composed by several districts, three of them had their own stamps, it was Alaouites, Alexandrette and Lattaquie. Alexandrette (Antaquie) was given to Turkey shortly after (in 1938). Here we have an Alaouites air mail stamp. It is a Syrian stamp overprinted Alaouites in French and Arabic.
Here we have the first emission of Hatay after attachment to Turkey. A Turkish block of 6 stamps, Ataturk, overprinted Hatay, it has a small error on one stamp, fetch it by comparing the currency.

In the second part, the first one, the fifth international Damascus fair is rather rare. The third one is also rare, it shows president Kouatly set as he was elected a second time.

Here we have a nice mint never hinged rather rare set of the new issues of Syria. The overprint was when the united arab republic was declared between Syria and Egypt in 1958. This set without overprint is not rare, only a small quantity has been overprinted. Other Syrian stamps have been surcharged but are not rare like this set. Beware of forgeries.
Inperforated stamps of Syria are rather rare, they are from a very limited printing and are looked for by specialists as errors. Here we have a nice air mail set imperforated. It would be better to have imperforate stamps with margins.
