When you first start Majora's Mask, you will see Link riding on Epona. Link eventually gets changed into a lowly Deku Scrub and is forced to stay in that form until the first trilogy of days are through. Once Deku Link recieves the Ocarina after midnight of the 3rd day, he is able to reverse time and go back to the beginning of the 3 day period. Then he is able to change back to his true form: Link.

Link is the main character of Majora's Mask, but he must change into different forms to fully complete his quest. Most of the items and weapons that he attains in his quest are only usable by him and not by his other forms. Links other forms may be what players would want to use most often, but only Link can use the other masks. Most of the masks lead to important items such as songs, items, or heart pieces.

Link has some new moves in Majora's Mask. First is his cool new jumping move. When he jumps from ledge to ledge he sometimes does a forward or side flip. Link can upgrade his sword in Majora's Mask also. He has the same sword spinning move that he had in Ocarina of Time. Link can also upgrade his magic meter in Majora's Mask and he can get the "double defense" which is when his hearts are outlined with white which means that he takes half the damage that he normally would.
