	One of a group of spirits of Malaysian folklore that have the capability of possessing humans, animals, or objects. They could be exorcised by means of various charms and rituals. There is some debate over the origin of the Badi. Some accounts say that they are the offspring of Jinn, others say that they sprang from three drops of Adam's blood, and yet other versions state that they were created by the radiance of the sunset.
