	In J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, a demonic monster that was found in the caves of Moria. It is described with large wings and a whip-like tail. Gandalf the wizard confronted it upon the bridge of Khazad-dûm, and in that battle, the two hurled each other down into the abysmal pit beneath the bridge.
