	Irish female spirit that was often associated with the Bean Nighe. The Banshee presaged the death of someone, especially a member of an old family, and when several come together to wail at once, it foretells the death of a great or holy man. Banshees have long hair, gray cloaks over green dresses, and eyes exceedingly red from continual weeping. If caught, Banshees are obliged to tell the name of the one who is to die.
