creature found in the Alps of France and Switzerland. The
Barbegazi have icicle encrusted hair and beards (in the
men only, of course), long feet used for skiing, and a
fondness of riding avalanches. They can cover themself
with snow in an instant and can dig themselves out no
matter how deep the snow is. They hibernate during the
summer and come out after the first snowstorm. They are
hardly ever seen at temperatures above the freezing point
as they cannot survive in warm temperatures for long.
They are generally benign to humans, helping those who
are in distress and howling to warn of avalanches. |
