| Ominous
dog found throughout England that foretold of imminent
doom, often appearing as a large and sometimes headless
dog with enormous claws and teeth. It rallied all the
dogs in the area and lead them in a howling procession
through the streets whenever a noted member of the
community dies. In other accounts, the Black Dog accompanies weary travelers, providing them with protection. They are completely silent, except for the clacking of their claws. |
