	Among the Iloko of the Philippines, one of a group of fat women that lived in trees. When the Batibat's tree was cut down, the Batibat would follow the wood made from the tree. If the wood was made into a bedpost, the Batibat would create nightmares for the person sleeping on the bed. The Batibat could be driven away by biting one's thumb or wriggling one's toe during a nightmare.
