of the Canaanites whose statue was constantly dripping
with blood, attracting flies and thus he came to be known
as "The Lord of the Flies." In medieval theology, a demon that was a chieftain of Hell that was described as having prodigious height, and sitting upon a giant throne. A band of fire encircled his forehead, his face is swollen, his chest is puffed up, sparkling eyes illuminate his face, and he has menacing hair. If conjured, it was said that it was almost impossible to get rid of him, but a spell that could be used to banish him back to Hell was: Beelzebub Lucifer Madilonsolymo Saroy Theuameclo Sagrael Praredunvenite Beelzebuth.
