	Horse of Greek mythology that was the offspring of Zephyrus (the west wind) and the harpy Celaeno, and the brother of Balius. Xanthus and Balius could speak with human voices and were given by their father to Achilles, whom they served as his steeds during the Trojan War. Xanthus was later struck dumb by the Erinyes.
