	Divine lion-headed bird of Sumerian mythology that was the personification of southern winds and thunder clouds. It stole the Tablets of Destiny from Enlil and hid them atop a mountaintop. Enlil instructed the gods to retrieve the tablets, but they were all afraid to confront Zu. Finally, Marduk slew it and retrieved the tablets. Zu was often identified with the Imgig Bird.
