George W - "Leader" of the Free World?


George Bush Junior got involved in football during college, like many young men do to engage in rigorous physical competition.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia. What was George Bush Junior's position?

Was George Bush Junior the star quarterback?
No.

Was George Bush Junior a linebacker?
No (HA! Get real).

Was George Bush Junior the water-boy?
You're getting warmer!

Was George Bush Junior the head cheerleader?
Bingo!


In 1961, George W. left the freewheeling Texas lifestyle for puritanical New England, where he followed in his father's footsteps by attending Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.

Bush was a mediocre student at Andover and not a star athlete, yet he always seemed to find himself in the center of the action. George W. (in dark jacket) became the head football cheerleader his senior year but was not viewed by classmates as a leader
