| The world of Darkstalkers is set in a post appocalyptic future. Basically, the darkstalkers, or dark ones, are everywhere, and the people live in constant fear, knowing these monsters could strike anywhere, at any time. Though the humans are basically defenless aside from some holy weapons, some governments, like the United States, have taken drastic measures, sending out special agents like Bonnie Hood to hunt down every last darkstalker. As for Earth itself, the presence of the dark ones has made dark clouds loom permanently in the skies all over the planet, blocking out the sun. As a result, crops, travel, and economy in general has been regressed to a semi-medivial state. Ironically, luxories such as cars can still be owned by those who can afford them. Not all of the darkstalkers are bent on darkness and destruction. Some of them, like Felicia the Neko-jin, just want to live a happy life among the humans. Others, like Jon Talbain, are trying to prove that darkstalkers have a place on this world like everything else. Still others, such as Donavan Baine, hate the darkness in themselves and try to overcome it by battling the dark. |
