Waking from my partial sleep I heard his tiny cries
I ran to him to ease the teardrops forming in his eyes
"Turn on the light, make it warm" giving all the comfort I could give
Holding him close and telling him he was the reason I loved to live
And when he'd drifted back to sleep I whispered in his ear
"Don't you ever worry baby, I'm right here; Mommy's here"

Life brought smiles, laughs, and cheers
As well as boo-boos, frowns, and fears
And every time whether it was for bad or good
I held him close and loved him with every ounce of me I could
And when he'd drifted off into his grown up years
I reminded him I'd always be here; Mommy's here.

When it was time again to slumber, I crawled into my bed
Smiling at the lifetime of memories that re-played themselves in my head
Watching him find love, get married and have children of his own
My life's full circle was complete and I knew I was being called to my Father's home
And before I drifted off, I wiped away my baby's tears
And I pointed to his heart and said "I'll always be right here...Mommy's here".
