The Night Before the Next Day

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
resounded the clicking and clacking of the keyboard and mouse.
The stockings were flopped on the hearth next to the big blue house Bear
With the hopes that St. Nicholas would see them down there.
Zachary was nestled all snug in his bed
so Mommy logged on to get some of her emails read
then Mommy decided to write a poem for her family and friends
then wrote to Santa "P.S. I really liked that silver Mercedes Benz!"
and Luke on his shredded bed, and Annie on her mat
were being amused by the ornament tossing Pandora-cat
Such a splendid Baby's 1st Christmas was about to be had
with all of the grandparents, Mommy & Dad
little Zachary's presents were piled high 'neath the tree
just waiting on Santa's gift to add to the festivity
I set out a glass of milk and cookies on a plate
(Oh my goodness, it's getting late!)
The time is near for Santa to visit our block
So I'm going to go now 'cause it's eleven o'clock
I think I just saw a glimpse of Rudolph and the other eight tiny reindeer
So I better quickly wish you all "A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"

(this poem is a direct result of what happens
when Mommy opens the fridge for leftovers and realizes
that none of her favorite stuffing was included
in the package!) :) I love you all!
