The Shower

The shower stall in the utility room off the cowboy bar was leaking and needs immediate attention. After pulling out the carpet, we were horrified to find rotting wood.

And what little fun surprise were we to find under the shower pan? WOOD ROT! Everywhere! The old shower unit was glued into place on regular sheetrock instead of the green water-resistant type. As usual, our previous owner(s) took the cheapest way out of another project. The drain will present a challenge but we feel confident that the PVC gods will rule in our favor. What's behind the walls?

MORE WOOD ROT! And, wet paper-backed insulation crawling with little black ants! Jim comments that he has never seen Mel move so fast. He's probably right. Nasty!
