Spelling lists are usually sent home each Monday and the kids will take a test on Friday.
The weekly spelling list will consist of at least two words from our weekly "rule" (pattern) that will be given to the kids on Monday. The list will include five (5) vocabulary words, two science words, two social studies words, two math words, and at least three (3) words that should be sight words (words fifth graders should know how to spell.
The kids will know all of the words that will be tested with the exception of the two additional pattern words that come from the brainstormed list as well as about four (4) words that will come from previous week's lists.
