June 4th -
Well folks, that's it. Another season of A.I. duPont Lady Tigers soccer has ended, and on a more victorious note than anyone expected. Despite a bumpy season thanks to a somewhat difficult schedule (AI is the only team in Delaware who will play teams outside of Delaware), the girls still made it to the final round of the tournament, beating out the 4th, 5th, and 1st seeded teams to get there. Rather impressive for a team with the 13th seed.
For those of you at the game (and what a large group it was), I would like to thank you for your support and I hope that you will all be back next season to cheer A.I. back to the finals.
St. Mark's - excellent game. Congratulations to Kristin Coar who scored 2 of St. Mark's 3 goals, and assisted on the other one.
And to A.I. itself - you fought 'til the end. That's quite an impressive feat for a team who many thought had lost its talent.
I'm waiting for about 4 more rolls of film from the last 2 championship games to be developed, which brings my total rolls of pictures to sort through and scan up to about 8. Or maybe 9. Who knows. Well, with 3 days of school and 4 days of finals left I think I finally have the free time needed to get it done.
I'm also going to get the stats up soon for Varsity and JV. I hope to get the rest of the info from Varsity games before I put up the individual stats for them thought. Oh Scott... where's your stat book? ;)
One final thing - the last poll question of the season is up and it will remain up until the beginning of the 2002 season. My senior year. Time to start thinking about what will become of this site after I graduate... any ideas? I'm open to suggestions.

The regular season for A.I. has officially ended, and on a good note too. The last team both teams faced and shut out was Mount Pleasant. Varsity brought home a 4 - 0 victory, and JV finished things up with a 5 - 0 victory of their own.
JV's season is officially over. Thank you for a great season girls - I hope next year all of you can make it up on to Varsity.
In my personal opinion, the best part of Varsity's game against Mount Pleasant was Erin Tully's goal. It was probably supposed to be a header, but hey, who knows. If you weren't there, allow me to attempt to describe it's beauty to you. Tully was standing on the right of MP's goal with her back to it, just by the post. I forget who sent the ball in, but just as it reached Tully it was losing height quickly. Tully dove forward onto her chest, causing the ball to bounce off the back of her head/shoulders and into the goal.
Sheer brilliance. :)
For JV, freshman Kelsea Fresconi proved to be the powerhouse of the game, netting two goals (both of the first half goals) and assiting on one. To provide AI with extra players, injured Varsity players Kelsey Ross and Danielle Nourie were brought down to help out. Ross provided excellent defense and offense (netting a goal of her own) and Nourie took over a position slightly different than what she is used to, relieving Erin Brackin of her goalie duties in the second half.
For more info on the JV game check out 2001 Game Outcomes. I'm afraid I don't have Varsity's yet. I'll work on getting them up soon.
I regret to say that I never did get JV headshots this year, but perhaps I'll have another chance before soccer season is completely over and done with.
Speaking of pictures - yes, I still have those four rolls to scan, plus a roll I should be getting of Kelsea Fresconi's pictures. I hate making excuses, but this one is honest. Time = None. Hopefully I'll be able to grab some this weekend.
One last thing - the poll question will be up until Monday, May 21st. There's a new feature this time around. After you vote you can enter a comment (on topic of the poll) for myself and others to read. Check it out.

Yes, I've been incredibly slow with this site this year. I apologize. I have no idea how I'll make it through next year, but I will make it, don't worry. Anyway, I have about 4 rolls of film to scan and edit and upload, so you should have a nice supply of pictures soon. JV headshots I'm not sure I'll get around to. I ran out of film. Heh. Profiles will also be coming soon.
I'm sure by now you've heard about St. Mark's and Newark's losses to teams ranked beneath them. Go to the Polls page and check out the most recent question that sprung from those loses.

April 30th -

Just a small note on the upcoming Dickinson game (May 2nd) - the past 2 years JV's games against Dickinson have been cancelled due to a lack of a JV team. While that may not be the case this year, I just wanted to get that up in the air so that everyone knows. With that said, go vote in the new poll question, check out the JV pictures (I have more coming - 3 whole rolls to develop! Varsity too), and get outside and enjoy the nice weather before it does something stupid like snow. Or something.

April 26th -

Both Varsity and JV fell to St. Mark's last night, JV 0 - 4, Varsity 0 - 5. St. Mark's provided superb pressure on offense which gave defenses for both teams a run for their money.
Monday will be the William Penn make up game. Time - unknown right now, as is loacation. Check the old game location/timefor now.
Friday's practice is at A.I. right after school. 2:45.
I'm still scanning in some pictures for JV and Varsity, and getting film developed. It's turning into quite a project. I'll get it done soon though. This weekend perhaps.

April 24th -

Over spring break Varsity played 2 games against PA high school teams. They lost one to Hempfield High, 0 - 4, and won against Wilson High, 1 - 0. I don't have stats for those games just yet, but I'll get on it.
Both Varsity and JV beat McKean on the 23rd - shutouts for both games. More info can be found in Game Outcomes for either team.
Tomorrow (4/25/01) is the St. Mark's game. I've heard rumours of rain all day tomorrow so the game may have to be postponed. We'll see. I've also heard rumours that the game may start at 4, not 5pm. None the less - this is the biggest game of the season for A.I., so let's get a crowd out there for support. Check out the Polls page to voice your opinion on the outcome of the game.
Coming soon - new JV and Varsity pictures taken by myself and my dad.
