RDC IX Chairperson Maria Clara L. Lobregat formally opened the 100^th Regional Development Council IX meeting held at the Conference Hall of the Zamboanga Freeport Authority, San Ramon, Zamboanga City. The theme of the 100^th RDC meeting is “Regional Development Council IX: Through the Years…Working Towards Sustainable Peace and Development”.

The distinguished guest during the said meeting was the Director-General of NEDA and the Secretary of Socio-Economic Planning, Dr. Dante B. Canlas (second from left). Also in the inset are Atty. Arsenio L. Gonzalez, Jr., RDC IX Co-Chair (extreme right) and Mr. Manuel A. Dalipe of ZFA (extreme left).

The 100^th RDC meeting was also graced by the presence of VIPs from the Royal Customs Office of Malaysia headed by Sr. Asst. Dir. Hj. M.D. Yusop Manjor who listened to a briefing on the Zamboanga Freeport Authority. Their visit to Zamboanga City was part of the RP-Malaysia Border Summit. They left the Conference Room after the ZFA briefing.

The scene of the usual atmosphere of the RDC IX meeting. Being the highest policy-making body in the region, the Council manifests its strong commitment and true intentions for sustainable peace and development in Western Mindanao region by endorsing the NPC proposal on Small Island Grid Interconnection Project which will connect the island province of Basilan. The propose Upgrading of Medical Equipment of Selected Hospitals in Region IX was also endorsed for Japan Grant Aid Program.
