Hares: Snow Plow and Big Country
A delightful Sunday afternoon was enhanced by today's Hash with Snowplow with dog Jackie, new Hasher-Maria Somogyi, Squeeze, Poser, dog Dylan, Debbie, Julie, Minnesota Fats, World Wanker, Cathy, Lost Boy Toy, Scarlett O'Hare, Hansje, A Bridge Too Far, AAA, and our GM, Big Country.
At the always-delightful Pivnica Mlinarica, Big Country called the hash to order and described his grand scheme for a runners' trail and walkers' trail that would have the runners and walkers actually meeting each other several times along the way. However, experienced hashers (alas, Twinkletoes, with his 30 years' experience, was out of town) could have told him that grand schemes never work on hashers! The walkers, instead of following the walkers' trail, managed to find the runners' trail early in the hash and followed it backwards into the various runners' checkbacks, instead of heading forward along the checkback-free walkers' trail.
Big Country, meanwhile, was back at the pivnica, imagining that his plan was being executed to perfection out on the trail. The walkers enjoyed a few other adventures, like the long diversion off the trail to follow a white mark, which a taste test (no kidding!) found to be cement.
Jackie and Dylan had different ideas about where to lead their walkers, and when they couldn't reconcile their differences, they split up. Dylan took his pack back the way they came, while Jackie pressed onward with her pack. The runners, without any dogs, had no such difficulties on the trail--maybe the concept of "guide dogs" is vastly overrated.
In the hash circle, Guest RA World Wanker graciously named Julie McCorry "McBody" after her propensity to shed her clothes as she did on the Dubrovnik Hash every time the sun came out. And, Hansje whose name when spell checked comes with the response "hamster" was named "Hamster"!
