Snitch Report #176, faithfully submitted by Big Country

The Red Dress Hash, 11 May 2003

After several wonderful years of Red Dress hosting by Wayne and Champika, Weak in the Knees took over hare duty this year. It was his farewell hash: he was leaving the next day to take up hashing with the Antwerp Hash. Since he wouldn't be around Zagreb anymore, maximum exposure was his goal, so the pack met under the horse statue, right in Trg Ban Jelacic. More than a few heads were turned, as the red- clad pack assembled: Weak in the Knees, Carmen, Snowplow, Big Country, Party Animal, Belly Button, Little Red Swizzle Stick (yes, LRTD, we know your real hash name, but this is a family-friendly snitch report, after all!), Bryce, Renate, Angelo, Hamster, Twinkletoes, Eric, Baby On On, Kelvin, Squeeze, and McBody.

The hash began in typical punctual fashion, around 14:15 or so. Off went the runners, followed by the walkers, followed by...wait, where did Hamster, Twinkletoes, Renate, and Angelo go? Weak in the Knees had made the mistake of announcing that the hash would end at Pizza Cappuciner, so this risk-averse foursome skipped the trail and headed directly to the pizzeria!

Up went the trail, through the upper town, past plenty of suspicious policemen. One walker, who happened to be carrying both Kelvin and Baby On On, decided to save the walkers the effort of finding hash marks by asking a policeman, "Did you see a few boys in red dresses go by?" "Down that street," snickered the policeman, and the walkers were back on the trail quickly.

Down went the trail, to the Dubravkin Put, and back up...wait, no, it's a dead end, to the great consternation of the walkers. Okay, one more time, back up again, then down to the pizzeria across from the cathedral. The pack enjoyed a pizza lunch, followed by an especially wet (by Strollers standards!) hash circle, where the hares, the shortcutters, the undressed, the leavers, the newcomers, the long- lost, the hares again, and other sinners were recognized and rewarded by Special Guest Religious Advisor, Weak in the Knees. Thanks, Weak, good luck in Antwerp, and stop by to see us sometime!

The next hash will be on Sunday, 25 May, at 14:00, with Little Red Swizzle Stick (LRTD, we'll wait to see if kids are present before we call you by your real name!) making his virgin hare appearance. We'll start somewhere near Britanski Trg, with exact details to follow sometime this week. On-on!
