Kirkcarswell outdoor events site is situated in a uniquely quiet backwater deep in the countryside and between the coasts and hills of Dumfries and Galloway.

The site covers120 acres of gently rolling and unspoilt farmland with it's own network of walks past lochs and woods, and benefits from being both in the middle of nowhere and not far from anywhere. (directly off the main A711, 60 miles from Carlisle)

Although the site is in the early stages of development, our vision is one of wonder and amazement. From the living willow tunnels that will surround the children's area to the terraced embankment earth sculptures, currently being designed by Jim Buchanan. (www.landartist.co.uk)

A sacred space is also planned for the site, which will be a quiet and serene area for those who wish to take time away from ongoing events to simply sit, relax and take in the surrounding scenery, which has inspired countless creatives who established an artists colony in nearby Kirkcudbright over 100 years ago.

Some hard infrastructure is already established on site in the from of roads, paths, drainage and water supply, and although the site is stunning enough to sell itself, we hope to it will become a unique feature in Scotland over the next few years. We will plough rental from events back into developing the existing hard infrastructure and artistic elements of the site, to create what will become an exciting and beautiful venue for all outdoor gatherings.

The Wickerman Festival is our first booking (www.thewickermanfestival.co.uk) with an expected audience of around 5000 coming to see a variety of contemporary and alternative rock and dance acts over the weekend of 19th and 20th July 2002. The fesitval will also feature a huge and inventive children's area, theatre, good food and drink, new talent and accoustic areas and the burning of a Wickerman both nights of the festival.

If you are a promoter, organiser of events, or simply a club chair, and are looking for a central and large outdoor venue with camping/parking facilities, then feel free to contact us to discuss ideas and arrange a visit. You will receive a warm welcome and a guided tour.
