Liesa & the Masouda World Dance Ensemble
"Sweethearts of the Nile" show Valentine's 2004
The Masouda World Dance Ensemble, based in Plattsburgh, New York, performs World/Ethnic dance for festivals, schools, celebrations, and theatrical presentations.

They express the beautiful and ancient dance form of "Raks Sharki" (Dance of the East), sometimes called "Belly Dance", as well as folkloric and modern fusion dance styles.

The Ensemble is known for colorful, authentic costuming, and exciting choreography set to beautiful and dynamic international music.Masouda is an Arabic word meaning happy, lucky, fortunate. We are fortunate to share the joy of dance.

Director Zahirah (Liesa Bassoi Pedersen) has performed and taught Folk, Modern, and Belly Dance to adults and children for over twenty years.

Classes are available at Clinton Community College, Plattsburgh, NY: Continuing Education Workshops (518) 562-4143) and at Liesa's Place Studio: (518) 561-0075 liesabpedersen@aol.com
