FUNCTIONS:
- To perform routine
chemical analysis on the nutrient content of common animal feed
and feedstuff as input data in the development of feed formula
for various groups and classes of livestock and poultry.
- To help and
assess in the formulation of policies, guidelines, standard and
criteria on the chemical analysis and evaluation of the nutritional
value of animal feeds and feestuffs.
- To provide laboratory
services and tehcnical advises both to the public and private
sector on the evaluation of the detailed nutritional value of
feed and specific class of livestock and poultry.
- To prevent adultaration
of livestock and poultry feeds whether imported or locally compounded.
- To assure the
purchaser of obtaining the quality feeds and feedstuffs that
will enable this animal to give the most returns in terms of
meat, milk and egg.

SERVICES:
- Soil Testing
Unit.
Analyze soils samples, results of which will serve as basis for
lime and fertilizer recommendation for maximum crop production.
- Soil Inoculant
Unit.
Soil inoculant has been producing and distributing various soil
inoculants which increase the yield of legumes and minimize or
even eliminate the need for nitrogenous fertilizer. It also produces
and distributes mushroom spawns for mushroom culture.
- Soil Assay
Unit.
Performs total analysis of both organic and inorganic fertilizers
to provide the data needed by the farmers, technicians, students
and other cooperators.
- Soil Characterization
Unit.
Performs the physical and chemical analysis of soil sample such
as moisture content, water holding capacity and textural grade.

for the effective surveillance, monitoring and control of animal
diseases.

body fluids and other relevant laboratory test and procedure.
