Like I said before, I am the number one fan of
Calvin and Hobbes. It is, without a doubt, the best comic strip
that ever existed. I very much wish they were still in the paper
today. It was one of life's great joys. I'm sure a lot of people
agree with this. If there is someone who doesn't, there is
someone who is a loser.
Now that the strip is no longer published, we can look in his
books and see that it isn't really funny, as some would
want it, as much as it was deep. I think that all of the
Calvin and Hobbes fans out there would agree with me. It wasn't
just a comic strip. It was awesome, and now it remains a part of
our lives.
(All you people out there who don't really know what the strip
is, don't think of this as obsession.)
Fox Trot is the best comic strip in the paper, but only because Calvin and Hobbes is no longer published.
Dilbert is uncool. No offense to Tom or any of his fans, but I really do not like it much. I hope there are other people in this world who feel the same way. If there is someone out there who agrees with me, please e-mail me, and with our combined strength, we will overthrow the emperor. I have forseen this. It is your destiny.
ZITS
Zits is pretty cool. It comes close to Fox Trot.
Garfield will sometimes get a good one in, but most of the time they are pointless and repetitive. The author has lost it.
Well, well. He quit. Actually, I'm not too sad. Okay, I am a bit happier. The only person cool in the strip was Schroeder. I will give the late Schulz credit though. He was a great cartoonist, in one definition of the word. Even though he wasn't too good of a writer, he had the spirit. In this sense, I compare him with Bach. Bach (Schulz) was fairly decent at writing, whereas Mozart (Watterson) was perfect. I will say one thing, though, and that is that the movies and music to Peanuts are awesome.
DENNIS THE MENACE
Bad. Extremley bad. The writer doesn't even care how good his drawings are any more, much less his humor.
