Hotels and houses in Madeira are often built on sheer slopes close to the Atlantic Ocean. The views are often breathtaking with the blue ocean in contrast to the colorfull "djungel" of flowers, grass and trees.
The eastern peak of Madeira is a very dry and hot area. Here you can hike all the way out to the ocean. Remember to bring water  because the walk will take the whole day and it's a tough walk but the  wonderful landscape  makes it worthwhile.

Madeira island is situated 700 km west of Morocko. 250,000 people lives on the island and half of them are living in the capital Funchal. A normal price for a 3 dishes supé is £15 per person. A good thing with Madeira is that it's genuine. You don't get the crowds of i.e. Mallorca.
The tap water is drinkable. Everything is working and the island is clean. You can travel all the year around, but the Madeirian spring is something really special.
Bon Voyage.
