Mark Chap 9: 33-37

Who is the Greatness in the Malkut?

Messiah Yeshua said:

"If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."

  1. They arrived at K' far-Nachum. When Yeshua was inside the house, he asked them.
  2. "What were you discussing as we were traveling?"
  3. But they kept quiet: because on the way, they had been arguing with each other about who was the greatest.
  4. He sat down, summoned the Twelve and said to them.
  5. "If anyone wants to be first, he must make himself last of all and servant of all".
  6. He took a child and stood him among them. Then he put his arms around him and said to them.
  7. "Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the
  8. One who sent me." (read also Matt 18:2-5 NASB sound.gif - 151 Bytes)

Comment

When they reached the house in K'far-Nachum where they would stay, Messiah Yeshua asked them what they had been arguing about along the way. Apparently it seem that this incident was related to the Transfiguration had gave them their hope for an imminent Malkut and they must have been grooming themselves for the place of honour. It must have saddened the heart of Yeshua that He was telling them the impending death while they were esteeming themselves better than others. The hearts of man is deceitful and desperately wicked above all things, as Yirmeyahu mention.

Yeshua gave them a lesson in humility. He said that the way to be first was to voluntarily take the lowest place of service and live for others instead of self. A little child was set before them and embraced by Adonay Yeshua. He emphasized that kindness shown in His name to the least esteemed, the least renowned was an act of greatness.

In Matthew Chapter 18:2-7 Messiah Yeshua called a little child to Him as an example for us all to learn. The word C H I L D is a simple outline or key factor for us to remember:

Yeshua said : "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the Malkut of heaven." (Mat 5:3)

A Childlike nature is one who becomes pride-free as this child is the most important in the Malkut of Heaven. Pride has no place in His Malkut.

Prayer

Dear Adonay Yeshua,

Thank you for your lesson on humility have directed through my heart and expose my carnal heart of mine. Bring down the SELF in me and let your life be lived through me. Help me regard others better than myself.
